Privacy policy
Last updated: 29 October 2026
Skaldex is an unofficial companion app for the game Valheim, available on iOS and Android and published by Prismatic Apps (“we”). This page explains what happens to your data when you use the app and this website.
In short
- No account, no sign-in. We do not collect any personal data about you, apart from our servers’ technical logs, kept for 7 days.
- Your favorites, progression and settings stay on your device.
- The app shows ads from Google AdMob. Google may use your device’s advertising identifier and usage data, with your consent where the law requires it.
- The “Remove ads” purchase goes through Apple or Google. We never see your payment details.
What stays on your device
Your favorites, progression (bosses defeated, stations built), search history, content language and other preferences are stored only on your device. They are never sent to us or to anyone else. Like the rest of your apps’ data, they are included in your device backups (iCloud, Google or computer, depending on your settings).
You can clear the search history in Settings. Deleting the app deletes all of this data.
Game data updates
The app works fully offline. To get newer game data, it downloads files from our server vc.prismatic-apps.com, automatically or when you tap “Check now” in Settings (you can limit this to Wi-Fi).
These requests contain no identifier and nothing about you or how you use the app. As with any internet connection, our server receives your IP address and the technical details your device sends with every request (app and system version) for the time it takes to answer. Like most web servers, our server keeps technical access logs (IP address, date and time, requested address, response) for security and to keep the service running. They are deleted automatically after 7 days and used for nothing else.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
Skaldex is free and funded by a banner ad shown at the bottom of some screens. Ads are served by Google AdMob, whose software runs inside the app. Our own code does not read or receive any of the data below: it goes directly to Google.
To show and measure ads, prevent fraud and, if you allow it, personalize them, Google may collect:
- your device’s advertising identifier (on iOS, only if you allow tracking; on Android, the Google advertising ID);
- your IP address and the approximate location derived from it;
- how you interact with ads, and technical, diagnostic and performance data about the app.
Google acts under its own privacy policy and works with advertising partners. See how Google uses information from apps that use its services, Google’s privacy policy and My Ad Center. Google may process this data outside your country, under the safeguards described in its policy.
Your consent
- European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland: before any ad is requested, a consent message from Google lets you accept or refuse personalized ads and see the list of advertising partners. If you refuse, you get non-personalized or limited ads and the app works exactly the same.
- Some US states: where state law gives you the right, you can opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of your data for targeted advertising through the same message.
- iOS: the app asks for permission to track (App Tracking Transparency). If you refuse, Google does not receive your advertising identifier. You can change this at any time in iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.
- Changing your mind: where the law requires it, the app’s Settings › Manage consent reopens the consent message so you can withdraw or change your choice. On Android, you can also reset or delete your advertising ID in the system settings.
“Remove ads” purchase
Removing ads is a one-time purchase made through the App Store or Google Play. Payment is handled entirely by Apple or Google under their own terms: we receive no name, email address or payment details. The app checks your purchase on the device through Apple’s or Google’s purchase system. Once the purchase is recognized, no ads are requested.
Children
Skaldex is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data about them.
This website
This website uses no cookies, no analytics and no external resources. Its server keeps the same technical access logs, deleted after 7 days.
Legal basis and your rights
Where the GDPR or a similar law applies, ads are personalized and your advertising identifier is used only with your consent. Non-personalized ads, which keep the app free, the delivery of game data updates and our servers’ technical logs rely on our legitimate interest.
You have the right to access, correct and delete your data, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability and to withdraw your consent at any time. Apart from these logs, deleted after 7 days, we hold no personal data about you, so we usually have nothing to send or delete; for data processed by Google, use the consent settings above or Google’s tools. For any question or request, write to contact@prismatic-apps.com. You can also lodge a complaint with your data protection authority (in France, the CNIL).
Changes
This policy may change as the app evolves. The current version is always published at this address, with its date at the top.
